Activities for Adults with Disabilities - Participant with group craft

Advanced Art

Besides the Art Projects that we do everyday, we have Advanced Art activities. Here, we do longer (2 hrs.), more complex crafts and arts that build skills.

Many times, for Advanced Art, we look for group projects that we can all do together and produce one single piece that we can display in our classroom!

Art Projects

For these activities, we work on arts and crafts designed to be accessible for all skill levels. We have new activities every day! Our staff is great at coming up with ideas of small art projects that stimulate, entertain and provide a creative outlet for our participants.

Activities for Adults with Disabilities - Beads

Bead Crafts

Here at All Aboard we looooove creating jewelry and other objects with beads, as well as making our own beads. Every participant can make one necklace or bracelet a day if they feel like it.

We have all sorts of sizes, colors and even can do letters to personalize gifts for their friends and family!

Activities for Adults with Disabilities - Bingo

Bingo

Bingo is, along with Karaoke, our FAVOURITE activity!

We play 2 games of Bingo per session. Participants earn chips for winning the 1st Bingo, for being the 1st with 4 Bingos and for being the 1st with a blackout!

After every game, participants ca go to our Bingo Store, where they can get all sorts of small prizes (thank you to all of our donors!).

Blacklight Dance Party

The side room gets all lit up with blacklights! We have neon decorations and wearables that we can have fun with. We play cheerful and upbeat songs so that it becomes a good physical activity as well as being suuuper fun.

Board Games and Puzzles

Traditional board games and jigsaw puzzles as well as our life-sized board game, group games like hangman, and brain-teasers like word searches and crossword puzzles.

Community Art

A collaborative art project that everyone works on together or contributes to. We use different materials and techniques to always keep it interesting and relevant.

And at the end, we usually end up with something big and colorful that we can display in the center for everyone to enjoy!

Drum Circle

Throughout the years we’ve gotten donations of great musical instruments! We have congas, tambourines, bells, maracas, and even a couple of banjos!

For our Drum Circles, we all sit together on our side room and play games like “Green Light, Red Light” where we try to make a lot of noise and then try to become suuuuper silent for that red light.

Floor Bowling

When we had to stop going to our regular bowling at the Bowling Alley because of the pandemic, we got some plastic pins and balls and created this mini-version of the game that we can play in one of our classrooms and still have tons of fun.

This is a physically intense activity for staff, so we’re always super happy when volunteers come help with repositioning pins and chasing balls!

Healthy Snack Class

Healthy foods can be delicious too! Our staff surfs the internet for inspiration and comes up with great and easy recipes we can do together as a group.

We incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables, and try to keep them interesting and unique so we never get tired of this activity.

Jokey-oke

We have you covered when it comes to dad jokes! We encourage participants to tell us their great jokes and funny stories. We also have a few books with some of our favorites.

Karaoke

This karaoke is the real deal! We have a stage with lights, microphones, curtains and we have our volunteers that do the DJ’ing for us!

Singing is completely optional and we only do karaoke in one of our two classrooms, so participants that need a more quiet space can always be on the other room doing crafts or engaging in side activities.

Each participant that feels like singing for us selects their own song, usually their most favorite song of all time!

You won’t regret to be part of this fun activity. One of our most popular activities amongst volunteers because it is so. much. fun!

Monday Morning Music

Usually the first class of the week! Some easy-going but fun and motivating music. Great for participants that prefer smaller groups with not too much

Talent Show / Play Practice

We have events throughout the year that allow participants to show the world their wonderful performance skills! We have Talent Shows and Plays where participants can choose to be part of and we invite the community to enjoy their great performances.

We make sure to rehearse at least once a week when we have an event coming up. Check our schedule to make sure you come rehearse your part!

The ARC Self-Advocacy Club

The Arc of Snohomish County comes to All Aboard to lead activities and talks with participants that choose to participate. They will talk about self-advocacy
